Last night, a few friends gathered at the home of our friend Josh Greene. All day long, he had been burning brush and piles of rotted wood around his barn. We shared a dinner in the kitchen but spent a lot of time around the bonfire. Not sitting. It was more like slow dancing…. moving around it to avoid the wind blowing smoke in our faces as it constantly changed directions. The grand finale was burning the picnic table where we’ve had so many great meals in years past. It wouldn’t have held up this year. Its demise was spectacular.
