Today is National Feral Cat Day.
You’d never see a feral cat in a dress, that’s for sure. But this day is meaningful to me because helping feral cats is a cause I spend a fair amount of time volunteering for. I am the trap/neuter/return coordinator for a local non-profit that serves Berkshire County, Massachusetts. My artwork and volunteer work have something in common; both raise up the dignity and standing of the animals who live among us. Today, I give my thanks to all of the feral cat caretakers I have met. Many of these folks have little more security than the cats they are helping, but they care, and they do what they can. I am honored to be able to partner with them to help cats who live outside.
